Song of the Day//Final by Laputa

Here’s a live performance of a great fun track by Laputa, active from 1993 to 2004. The band is considered to be Nagoya Kei and personally, I think one can hear the vocal similarities between Aki, Laputa’s lead and some other Nagoya bands. Laputa’s name is derived from an island in the book Gulliver’s Travels. I know there is a popular anime movie out there by the same name and as far as I know, there is no connection between the film and the band. The line up is Aki on Vocals, Kouichi on guitar, Junji on bass and Tomoi on drums. An interesting fact: Aki and Tomoi were both roadies for Kuroyume just like a bunch of other musicians who went on to make great music like Dir en Grey’s Kyo and Penicillin’s Hakuei.
